The Safety First program teaches teen drivers to become safer drivers. This program provides safe hands-on training exercises on a private, 2+ mile road course. A parent (or coach) accompanies each teen driver who practices specific driving skills from behind the wheel. Each on-track session reinforces a "preventive strategy" approach to driving, with exercises and maneuvers to help teach the following skills:
» brake and collision avoidance
» car control & skid control
» wide-area focus and situational awareness
» in-traffic safety and distance awareness
» highway lane-changing, merging & passing
All exercises are conducted at street or highway speeds, and our track-side coaches monitor each student during on-track exercises to give immediate feedback and help students focus on specific skill areas.
